I have line on JD 870 w/ 72" belly mower w/900 hrs. They are asking $11k. Is this good price for a unit only used for mowing. Also, is this good mowing machine? -- it has 4wd and synchro 3 + 9 manual tranny. Looks really clean. I live on fairly hilly terrain, and will trim w/ wheel horse 520Hydro.

Jack, I bought an 870 with 450 hrs. 4wd, loader, bushog, new JD 660 tiller, posthole digger, 6 prong rippers, 6' backblade for 16k. I have put another 120 hrs on it with zero problems. The 70 series JD has a reputation of execellent reliabilty. Even the local Kubota sellsman told me to buy this tractor when he could have sold me a new L2500 I had been looking at for a couple months. Any more questions about the 870 feel free to e-mail me.
